Get SquidServers and Java ready

Download SquidServers for Windows and open it. Allow the app to run if Windows prompts. Make sure Java is installed. If you are not sure, install Java 21 as a safe default unless your mods require another version.

Build and tune

Choose Vanilla, Paper, or Modpack. Create or import a world. Set memory with the slider and pick a save folder. Start with 2 to 3 GB for 1 to 5 vanilla players and add more for bigger groups or packs.

Launch and play

Launch the server and share the join link. Keep the server window open while people play. Close heavy apps to free resources and lower simulation distance if you see stutters.
