How to Add a Modpack to Your Minecraft Server
Modpacks give you a full experience in one download. In this guide you will learn how to install a pack without mismatches, test it safely, and keep it stable through the season.
Pick the exact pack version
Choose a specific version of the pack and stick with it for a while. Frequent upgrades can break worlds. Note the loader, Minecraft version, and Java version that the pack requires. If Java is not listed, try Java 21 first.
Install the pack
Stop the server. Upload the pack’s server files rather than the client files. Make sure your loader matches the pack’s loader. Start the server and watch the console for missing dependencies or failed loads.
Join with the same pack version on your client. Do not mix different versions of the same pack.
Keep the pack stable
When a new pack version releases, copy your world and test the update there first. Only upgrade your live world after a clean test and a short session with friends.
