Want to host a Minecraft server with Vault Hunters for your friends? In this guide you will learn how to pick the right RAM, match versions, and start quickly with SquidServers. You will also get simple tips to keep your Minecraft world stable.

Check the modpack details

Find the loader the pack needs, the Minecraft version, and the Java version. If Java is not listed, try Java 21. Note any extra libraries the pack requires so you can include them on the server.

Start your Minecraft server on SquidServers

Open SquidServers and choose Modpack. Upload or select the Vault Hunters server files. Create or import your world. Use the Memory Allocation slider to give your server enough RAM.

Good starting RAM:

• 1 to 5 players on light packs: 2 to 3 GB
• 6 to 10 players: 4 GB
• Heavier packs: add 2 to 4 GB

If the server still stutters after extra RAM, close heavy apps and lower simulation distance to ease CPU load.
